Mauricio has a Master's Degree in Environment specializing in Energy Efficiency from the University of Melbourne - Australia and a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Army Polytechnic School (ESPE) - Ecuador. He is a proactive professional who promotes sustainability at all levels, he has worked on several projects, designing and implementing policies and strategies for sustainable development, energy efficiency and renewable energy for buildings and industries. He can use adaptation and mitigation strategies to climate change, taking into account the resilience of the system and framed within regenerative and positive design. He has had experience in multicultural and interdisciplinary work teams in Ecuador, USA, Belgium and Australia. Today he is an active member of the International Living Future Institute. He has been invited as a mentor in entrepreneurship events and in the development of workshops focused on promoting SDGs for the formation of companies willing to change the paradigm of traditional business, looking fo a more prosperous world. Within the academic sector, he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of the Catholic University of Ecuador and has been co-director and thesis reader in the Master of Architecture and Sustainability. He has been part of the group of professors at Universidad de las Américas and worked as a director, researcher, and professor of the Sustainable Architecture career at Universidad Regional Amazónica Ikiam
