For forty plus years Maurie has managed the operation of private companies engaged in the telecommunications industry. He was Managing Director of Laurie Systems Engineers (now known as LSE Technology and part of Leightons) a project management and implementation company that he founded in the late 1970's. Subsequently he formed TeleResources Pty Ltd a telecommunications consultancy company. In these positions he had full financial accountability including the recruitment and management of specialist staff.In 2001 TeleResources Pty Ltd was sold to TeleResources Engineering (Aust) Pty Ltd with the company expanding its interests from consultancy into engineering services and software products for the wireless industry.TeleResources today is Australia's leading independent wireless strategy and solutions company with clients including all the mobile network operators in Australia and New Zealand plus most of the major vendors to the industry.In 2012 TeleResources established subsidiary companies in Pakistan and Thailand encouraged by the recent award of 3G licences and the need for skilled engineering services to upgrade existing networks in those countries.

I've had a life long interest in personal fitness based on my involvement in playing field hockey at both a Grade and Masters level. I'm now delighted to be a pioneer in promoting EMS in Australia. This technology and its benefits are well known in Europe where there are more than 5,000 studios. EMS has been widely used in physiotherapy for decades with great results. It's rapidly expanding use as a Whole Body Training method provides the perfect combination of a highly effective strength and cardio training for all age groups and particularly those who can never find the time to go to a gym. TeleResources established a subsidiary company in Thailand to address the opportunity for providing advanced engineering solutions and services to the mobile communications industry in that country. We recently closed this subsidiary as we have found it more effective to address opportunities on a case by case basis from Australia.In recognition of the benefits in technology transfer that the company intended to provide, the Thailand Board of Investment allowed TeleResources (Thailand) to be 100% foreign owned and granted special privileges in respect of work permits. Maurie was the inaugural CEO of the company which won projects in 3G/4G network design, test and optimisation within the Kingdom.

Momentom Group - 'Driving Social Commerce', was established after recognising the need for a specialist skill-set to capture the powerful opportunities presented by the rapidly evolving social commerce landscape.Under license from Gomeeki, Momentom leverages the Ubiquity platform and its resources to incubate high-growth online businesses which address global market opportunities.

VirTel Intelligence was Australia's first Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) and a wholesale partner of Vodafone Australia. The company enabled the entry of new brands to the Vodafone network by providing access to white-labeled wholesale voice and data services. VirTel works closely with billing and customer service partners that charge on a 'pay-as-you-go' basis making it easy and economic for brands to launch their services.In December 2004 the company purchased the customer base of Vodafone ASP Mobile Innovations to form VirTel group and its associated MVNO, Reward Mobile.In June 2005 VirTel Group was acquired by Sonnet Corporation (ASX: SNN)

Laurie Systems Engineers was formed to undertake turnkey telecommunications projects building on the knowledge and contacts of past employees of Page Communications Engineers. I founded the company with the assistance of the directors of a boutique economic consultancy, The Implementation and Management Group and civil engineers Valentine Laurie and Davies.Following my departure in 1984, the company was divided into two entities, LSE Technology and LSE Manufacturing.
