CEO at Augustas Risk Services SpA, was born on July 18, 1962 in Santa Margherita (GE), Italy. He is married with 6 children. He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering, achieved at the “Politecnico di Milano”.With 32 years of experience at the highest international levels as a Risk Professional, he offers a quite unique profile; in fact he had the opportunity to work in very high profile positions both on the side of the client who manages the company's risks and is a user of RM services, and on the side of risk management services providers. In the first part of his career he reached the top level of the risk management function at Pirelli, one of the most advanced industrial companies in Europe in terms of risk management approach and culture, thus getting the opportunity to achieve an in depth knowledge of topics such as International Insurance Programs, Captives, Risk Engineering, Business Continuity Management. In the second part of his career he worked for XL Group, an American insurance company and a world leader in commercial insurance and design and supply of Risk Management products and services for major multinationals. In the last 8 years at XL he developed competences as general manager, leading the italian branch of the group. 2 years in brokerage and 5 years in RM consultancy complete the profile which is truly a 360° view on Risk and Insurance Management.In the past few years he focussed in RM consultancy, initially by founding and leading his own Company, MAO Risk Consulting. In 2017 MAO joined forces with PCA, the Insurance brokerage harm of Gavio Group, with an exclusive partnership agreement on Risk Management consultancy services. Finally, in July 2019, Augustas SpA, a new company focussed on RM services was founded by Gavio Group and is led by Maurizio as CEO.Maurizio has been very active in professional Risk Management associations, including leading roles such as President of FERMA (European association of RM) and chairman of IFRIMA (worldwide RM body). He has also been very active as speaker in Insurance and Risk Management events where he gave numerous lectures in several countries.
