The SMARTlab focused on the rapid prototyping of new products, simulation assistance for other internal groups and new business pursuits.Held the lead role in developing a user interface for a ground control station for a prototype unmanned air vehicle (UAV). Integrated with prototype hardware for controlling vehicle flight and developed the primary Java Swing user interface for receiving flight telemetry data. Architected and wrote the communication stack between the ground station and vehicle using UDP over Bluetooth, Wifi and ZigBee.Responsible for supporting multiple technical proposal submissions including a proposal effort to win a US Marines vehicle health management contract. Designed and built a Java application framework for multiple vehicle sensor displays, sensor control input, and external interface with a 3rd party web portal. Awarded a Honeywell Bravo award for software and proposal submission.Lead the ground-up establishment of a remote software laboratory in the Czech Republic (that had grown to 8 fulltime employees). On-going responsibilities included the training of new employees, software task assignment, budget management, and coordinated new business pursuits.
