Mauro Patimo Email and Phone Number

I am a Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering at Pennsylvania State University. I have obtained a B.S. in Astrophysics at California State University, Northridge. I also attended Los Angeles Pierce College where I obtained an A.A. in Math and an A.A. in Physics.My research journey began during my time at Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC), where I worked on a project exploring the upper limit of rotation speed for neutron stars. Since transferring to CSUN, I have been collaborating with Dr. Ricci on a project focused on deriving different properties of protoplanetary disks, with the aim of publishing a paper. I have also participated in smaller projects with other professors, including translating code from MatLab to Python for image and data analysis in a biophysics lab.In the summer of 2022, I was accepted for a prestigious summer research experience at Princeton University, where I worked on pairing ultra-high speed liquid varifocal lenses with femtosecond lasers for industrial tempered glass cutting. In my free time, I have also developed a personal project involving creating 3D aerial images using the same lens and laser pairing.Aside from my academic pursuits, I have a passion for languages and have become proficient in Italian and English as my mother tongues. I am also able to understand and speak a bit of French and Latin.
