MAURO FIORONIBorn in Rome in 1958. Married with two children.Excellent language skills in both written and spoken English. Basic knowledge of French.Graduated with honours in Electronic Engineering at Università "La Sapienza" in Rome in 1982.1983 - 1984 Officer in a specialized technical department of the Italian Army.1984 - 1986 Analyst and programmer in private ICT companies (Datamat and Auselda) developing Unix solutions for Office automation and collaborating in a special project for the Milan Stock exchange automation. In 1986 moved to the public sector in the Senato della Repubblica.1986 - 2010 in the ICT Department of the Senato (Servizio Informatica) as head of teams for software development, in particular concerning feasability study, analysis and programming on the main data-bases of the Parliamentary Information System of the Senate. Since 1995 has been in charge of the technical maintenance and evolution of the Internet Web Site, of the Intranet Senate Portal and, in collaboration with the Camera dei Deputati, of the Italian Parliament Web Site.Senate work experience includes collaboration in many international and interistitutional projects, among which the Normattiva project in order to make all updated Italian laws freely accessible on Internet.From 1996 to 2010 was head officer covering a variety of responsabilities (Internet/Intranet, ICT security, E-learning and collaboration with the Camera dei deputati). From July 2010 to November 2014 acting director and to June 2022 Director of the ICT Department of the Senate: in this role he coordinates the 3 ICT internal offices and elaborates ICT strategic plans with special focus on the optimization of costs and ICT resources - also concerning the forseen integration and merging of internal structures with the Camera - the virtualization systems and Cloud Computing technologies, the Open Data services and the parliamentary use of Social e Civic Media.Retired in July 2022.
