As a child, I wanted to be an inventor. Software development was a perfect way to create things and required only a computer. I started working as a software developer while still at school. I created my first company when I was 19 and had to fill various roles, from negotiating contracts to lying on the floor to connect a scanner, often with just a few minutes in between.I soon learned that I found joy in solving problems and creating solutions, and technology was that powerful tool that could give me that wonderful and innovative challenge. That's when I started my second company with a friend, and those 13 years were full of projects and opportunities to learn. I learned not only about the importance of being technically excellent, but also the significance of all the other sides of the business, from sales to support. I learned by both working on challenges, offering solutions I was proud of, and by making mistakes and missing opportunities - those were really valuable lessons. As time passed, I found that I also enjoyed the challenge of helping people reach their potential and developing champion teams. That takes me to my more recent years in New Zealand, where I work in an incredible company, growing the next generation of leaders while offering our supply chain and logistics clients an edge.I am passionate about everything I do, but I especially love cooking with an open fire and sharing it with my family and friends.Have you read all that?
