Staff Electrical and System Engineer for the development and integration of the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35) Aircraft Vehicle System Remote Input/Output Units (RIO). - Technical and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for the Remote Input Output (RIO) unit that is installed in ten different locations on the F-35 aircraft. The RIO provides the electrical interface for the aircraft including nose-wheel-steering, fuel probes, sensors, strain gauges, monitors, stepper motors, and discrete signals used to manage the hydraulic system, landing gear, fire protection, and power/thermal systems.- Successfully completed PDR, CDR, TRR and Full Qualification of the RIO SW and HW for Environmental, Power Variation, and EMI/EMC per MIL-STD 810, 704, 461 and DO-160. Completed Safety of Flight certification, verified with our government customer, to support F-35 CTOL and STOVL first flight, and delivered 170 RIO units to support fourteen F-35 aircraft.- Technical lead for Smiths Aerospace team of engineers with hardware, software, and model development. Conducted weekly meetings to manage the development activity, provided schedule status reviews to upper management and the customer, and maintained accurate earned value for the RIO program.- Resolved integration issues among the Flight Controls and Utility & Subsystem Integrated Product Teams including Fuel, Fire Protect, Landing Gear, Power Thermal Management systems, Hydraulics, and the Electrical Power System.
