About Mawuli Adzoe

I am a Full Stack Software Engineer with about 10 years of experience developing innovative solutions. Having founded around half a dozen startups, I’ve served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading and scaling engineering teams to build products that drive financial inclusion, particularly through Bitcoin and web/mobile technologies. My hands-on engineering experience with the Bitcoin blockchain has led to consulting roles with startups in Nairobi, New York, and Palo Alto, helping them implement and scale their engineering efforts. At GoodShop in San Francisco, I worked closely with Senior Software Engineers, mastering best practices like Test-Driven Development, Code Versioning Systems, Agile Methodologies, and Full Stack feature development. As an entrepreneur at heart, I use software engineering as a tool to bring my ideas to life. My journey began by retailing USB thumb drives to university students still using floppy disks—offering a better solution to prevent data loss. This drive later led me to develop e-voting software, replacing the slow, costly paper ballot system for over 30,000 students at my university. We cut the election budget by over 50% and reduced the time from voting to result declaration from 10 hours to just 1 hour.Beyond tech, I am deeply committed to social impact. As a top 1% lender on Kiva.org, I’ve provided 0% interest loans to over 1,000 mom-and-pop retailers across 42 countries, including Kenya, the Philippines, and El Salvador. With 80% of these loans benefiting mothers, I’m passionate about helping women in business improve their income and uplift their families.

Listed skills include Ruby, Javascript, Java, Entrepreneurship, and 43 others.

Chief Technology Officer

Tollab Solutions Ltd

Tollab is ballot spelt backwards. We were turning the campus election industry upside down.My friend and I were running the Linguistics Students Association on campus. Problem was we didn't have the 1,000USD we needed back then to print ballot papers for the association's executive election. I wrote software that we used to organise the election. It cost the association less than 100USD. A year 90 percent of elections on campus don't use dead tree ballot paper anymore. They now use eVoting for elections in the University of Ghana student communtiy. Less dead tree paper used. Less cost. Much more sustainable. Results are declared in less than an hour instead of the usual 4 hours. That was one of the fun things I did on campus.Tollab Solutions is the company that I registered to receive payments from the over 50 student associations who wanted to buy the software.
