My research focused on the role of membrane repair in satellite cell activation in Pompe's disease.During my research, I conducted experiments using the following techniques: cell culture and transfection, RNA and protein extraction, PCR and qPCR, western blotting, isolation of individual myofibers and satellite cells from mice, as well as FACS and flow cytometry.

I preformed my research internship in Dr. Christopher Schliehe lab at the department of Immunology of the Erasmus MC under the supervision of Dr. Christopher Schliehe. My research focused on investigating the mechanisms involved in the generation of neo-epitopes by frameshift errors in MHC class I antigen presentation. During my research, I conducted experiments using the following techniques: cell culture and (virus) transfection, RNA and protein extraction, PCR and qPCR, western blotting and setting up a LacZ hybridoma assay. Furthermore, I also helped set up the research lab together with a technician and another intern as Dr. Christopher Schliehe had just arrived to the Erasmus MC that same year (2016).

Tutored International Baccalaureate (IB) students from all levels (standard level/higher level) of chemistry, physics and maths. I created difficult problems and extra homework to challenge the most difficult questions on the final IB exams. Eventually, 3 of the 10 students I tutored over the years scored maximum points (7/7) in their final exam in a subject they were struggling with in the beginning of the school year.

I preformed my bachelor thesis internship in Dr. Tom van Wezel's lab at the department of Pathology of the LUMC under the supervision of Dr. Noel de Miranda. My research focused on the eligibility of early-onset late stage colorectal cancer patients for neo-antigen based immunotherapy.During my research, I created a cohort of late stage colorectal cancer patients for the study and created slides from tumors and metastasis to preform experiments on. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence techniques were used on the created slides to determine their eligibility for the immunotherapy study.
