The main objective of the University of Malta Racing team is to build a formula car with the aim of competing at Formula Student events. This entails various engineering/managerial related tasks such as securing sponsorships, designing, assembling, testing, training members, managing logistics, budgets, and maintenance to name a few.As an Engineering team member the jobs were vastly varied, these included instances of design, testing, presenting, assembly, and logistics among others. However, the main skill gained throughout this experience was competing as a team in an engineering environment which required a great deal of communication and documentation. The aim as an engineering team member and subsequently an internal officer was to maintain performance throughout an organization and to retain knowledge across different generations of members, while dealing with intra-organization relationships and affairs. Notable experiences throughout my time in this organization include competing at Formula Student UK at the Silverstone Formula 1 racetrack, and presenting our vehicle locally at Science in The City.
