I am a third-year engineering student at Western University, studying Mechanical and Materials Engineering. As an active member of the Western Formula Racing FSAE team, I am currently leading the Chassis subsystem. WFR is a student run team that designs, manufactures, and races a formula-style racecar, competing against other university teams across North America and Europe. My role as Chassis Lead involves overseeing the design and manufacturing of the chassis, running composite infusions and optimizing the performance of the vehicle through changes made to the chassis.I am interested in structural and mechanical design as well as vehicle dynamics, more specifically ship and boat design as well as the operational features of ships and boats. I hope that through studying Mechanical Engineering, my understanding for these sectors can be enhanced through the studies of topics such as fluid dynamics, materials science, and machine dynamics. I plan on studying a Naval Architecture related Master’s degree after completing my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
