The single biggest thing to know about me is that I absolutely adore programming. Despite not having started before I went to college, it has truly become my passion, and being able to do it every day is phenomenal. I love the problem solving, and I love the feeling of tracking down that one bug that's been plaguing me. I spend my free time making projects when I think of them, and I will take any opportunity I can to write more code. Being able to do something that I enjoy so much makes me incredibly lucky, I feel.A bit more about me though 一 I consider myself someone who prides himself on high quality code. I value maintainable and readable code and applications over "clever" solutions, and always try to think about who will be coming into the code after me. I also love to automate things 一 I abhor doing things "the long way" if I can avoid it, and I am constantly looking for opportunities to make my life and the lives of those around me easier through scripting and automating tasks.I also pride myself on communication skills. I am an excellent public speaker, and a very friendly person. I am always enabling and looking for ways to improve communication across teams, and I have been lauded by coworkers as being someone who is a force multiplier for teams by being the one willing to sit everyone down to have a chat about a problem.I have had the opportunity in my career to wear many hats. I have worked as a consultant, I have done backend development, I have done front-end development, I have been a tester, and I have done large amounts of teaching and mentoring. I believe myself to be a great teacher, and I highly enjoy being able to help other people. I believe this is largely due to my love of what I end up teaching and being able to share that excitement with others.
