Max was the Lead Senior Valuation Manager with HIG Capital. Accountable for overseeing the valuation of HIG’s LBO, Middle Market, Advantage, Growth, LatAm, BioVenture, Venture Capital, and Europe LBO funds. Prior to joining HIG, Mr. Chen was a valuation consultant of PwC LLP where he was providing assurance and valuation consulting services to various industry clients; and later continued his career in the Transaction Services group focusing on advising clients with their valuation needs, particularly business combinations, impairment analyses, cross-border transactions, enterprise valuations and private investment valuations.

- Manage and execute financial valuation services in connection with transaction advisory, diligence, financial and tax reporting purposes related to ASC 805, 350, 360, 820 and 718.- Perform purchase price allocation analyses for valuation of intangible assets resulting from deals.- Conduct business enterprise valuations using discounted cash flow analysis, comparable multiple, and comparable transaction multiples.- Perform pre-deal purchase accounting valuations to analyze the fair value of acquired assets.- Review fair value determinations for private equity clients’ portfolio investments with over billion in total investment values.- Assist and advise private equity clients in creating best practices for fair value reportingportfolio investments.- Instruct and lead business valuation and intangible assets valuation learning seminars for new associates.- Train, mentor and manage junior staff, while communicating feedback and delegatingeffectively.

- Led and executed pre-deal financial valuation in connection with merger and acquisition within Asia region.- Managed and executed purchase accounting valuation in connection with transaction advisory,diligence, and financial reporting purposes related to ASC 805, 350, 360, and 820.- Performed out-bound valuations related to the purchase price allocation of international M&A deals.- Performed pre-deal purchase accounting valuations to analyze the fair value of acquired assets.- Led and participated on many SOE and privatization business development proposals and directly led the bidding process.
