Plant Engineer, EitHusky Energy Jun 2018 - Apr 2019Rainbow Lake/Calgary, Canada Area• Led 6 plant turnaround projects involving PSV and piping modifications using the Management of Change (MOC) process. Projects required assessment of alternative solutions, production of detailed Engineering Work Packages, development/mark-ups of P&IDs, isometrics, and shutdown keys; and facilitation of a Design and Hazard review.• Developed working understanding of industry standards and codes: ASME B31.3, API 520, and API 521. -
Process Engineer, EitHusky Energy Jun 2017 - May 2018Lloydminster Upgrader• Conducted EWR evaluations and scoping studies to help support plant initiative to increase crude capacity by 2020 Turnaround.• Completed Gas Recovery Unit (GRU) plant-wide heat optimization that involves creating a HYSYS simulation of the process & utility system and detailed Aspen Exchanger Design and Review (EDR) of all heat exchangers. Presently drafting up scoping report and provided continued support for Bantrel for detailed engineering phase.• Updated and consolidated facility Dead Leg program. This required identifying dead legs to be demolished and ensuring all recorded information match operator inspection forms.• Assisted with 2018 Unit (Hydrocracker) Turnaround vessel inspections• Supported Husky Ethanol Plant on venting calculations in storage tanks through HYSYS simulation.• Carried out a traffic optimization study to support 2017 HLU Turnaround. -
Production Engineer, EitHusky Energy Jun 2016 - May 2017Calgary, Alberta, Canada• Monitored and evaluated well performance of 2 well pads in Sunrise, and make improvements where possible in order to increase oil production.• Acted as liaison between field operations and Calgary staff when covering shifts as a field production engineer• Acted as project sponsor and provide technical support for execution of workover opportunities such as an injector to CSS well conversion.• Completed on-demand projects and studies as required such as a technical and economic evaluation of all 2016 workovers with a focus on tailpipe impact on production.• Provided support for day-to-day operations such as weekly and monthly production reporting and forecasting to upper management. -
Exploration/Reservoir Co-Op EngineerHusky Energy May 2015 - Dec 2015Calgary, Canada Area• Created forecasting model to predict clean-up times and burnable gas to be flared for clean-ups of new foam-fracked wells in the Duvernay/Montney formation by analyzing trends in analogous well data from Canadian Discovery Frac Database and IHS AccuMap.• Compiled data from existing Husky wells and used statistical analysis to find a correlation between Condensate Gas Ratio (CGR) and composition of production gas. This study allows for the prediction of CGR of wells from different companies based on reported public data.• Completed several studies to predict expected costs and required fracking parameters based on similarly completed projects that support completion effort for newly fracked wells.• Assisted in completing regional studies and reservoir pressure trending work for new interest areas such as Sinclair, Horn River, and Wild River.• Aided in completing Reserves Booking documentation and reserves estimate/economics calculations.• Completed corporate and third-party training courses for drilling, cementing and well-log interpretation. -
Oil Sands Operations Co-Op EngineerHusky Energy Jan 2014 - Aug 2014Sunrise, Ft. Mcmurray• Completed four First Steam (high-priority) MOC projects as Project Manager and assisted in completing several First Steam MOCs involving the Distributed Control System (DCS). • Created operation strategy and control narrative for the Sunrise Disposal Blowdown System in the Central Processing Facility (CPF), which involved hydraulic calculations, pump assessment, HYSYS simulation, and multi-team collaboration.• Assisted in creating the Dynamic Commissioning Procedure (DCP) for the Field Facilities.• Enhanced communication skills by leading multiple cross-functional Design and Hazard Reviews, a technical presentation, and a Constructability/Early Access Request meeting. Approval for Early Access was provided following the presentation, which accelerated the completion timeline of one of my MOCs by over a month.• Obtained field experience by visiting multiple well pads and the CPF for walk-downs, hazard identifications, and safety audits. Regularly interacted with operators during Field Facility visits, which helped develop a strong working relationship with Operations team members.• Gained additional SAGD process understanding from completing corporate technical training courses. -
