6 month placement at Siemens Congleton, in the Motion Control sectorResponsible for updating the standard production times across various parts of the production lines. Conducted time and motion studies to identify cost savings and more accurate production rates.Optimised cell production rate and Operator utilisation using theoretical simulation models in order to justify the need to redesign and create action.Led a SMED activity on a surface mount production line to reduce changeover time variances through standardisation. This involved building strong relationships with Line Operators.Conducted a research investigation into the production control strategy for the High Mix Low Volume production line in order to assess it against alternative manufacturing strategies such as Mixed Model Lean, Theory of Constraints and CONWIP. The aim of this project was to generate a passion for improving the manufacturing philosophy of this line in management. My major responsibility was to improve the visibility of problems to the value stream team through Value Stream Mapping and data gathering and propose possible future state maps based on research.
