I joined the United States Army right out of high school. The training there provided me with strong leadership skills and dedication to duty. These traits have carried over in all my employment. Part of the Army leadership course taught me multitasking, time management, and end goal focus. These skills helped me when I left the army and spent the next several years as an over the road truck driver. Time management was key, as deadlines were a daily job function. Wanting to work closer to home, I began training in the electrical trade. I worked my way to a level III wireman and gained experience with small electronics as well as new commercial construction projections. This included the Devon Tower where I ran all the CAT-5 cable in five floors of the 52-story building and the control wiring for the automated lighting. My next position was with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Where I once again quickly rose into a leadership position. I found myself supervising 150 inmates as well as 3 other officers every day. When COVID came in 2020 I was put in charge of the quarantine unit and helped to develop the Department’s written quarantine policy. My most recent employment has been as a manager, director, and part owner of J. Dunn security courier group. Here I have been responsible for HR, payroll, logistics, inventory, scheduling, and invoicing. Supervising 9 couriers and tracking of all equipment and inventory has given me the confidence to take on any project that comes my way.
