About Max Cox
Currently, I am the Area Biologist for North Louisiana (Area 1) prior to accepting this position I was the Resource conservationist/ Senior planner for LARU 3 (Richland and Morehouse parishes). Prior to moving to Rayville, I was the Soil Conservationist with USDA-NRCS in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana. I also, served as the Soil Conservation Technician with USDA-NRCS in Tensas Parish, Louisiana before moving to East Carroll. Prior to working for NRCS I was a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). My graduate research was focused on "Bat Community Response to Prescribed Fire and Overstory Thinning in Tennessee Hardwood Forests". Prior to graduate school I completed my BS at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in Fish and Wildlife Management (2013). I also have a A.A.S. in Fish and Wildlife Management Technologies from Haywood Community College (Clyde, NC, 2008). During my education I worked and volunteer with the University of Tennessee (Knoxville), National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, US Forest Service, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and other agencies, I have had the opportunity to work and collaborate with a diverse number of natural resource professionals who have encouraged my development in my chosen career path. I have also gained extensive experience that would be helpful to any agency. In conclusion, I am enthusiastic about a career in fish and wildlife management and hope I can expand my knowledge in the future.
