Managing the team and supporting Director Prof William MacAskill's projects including his new book "What We Owe The Future" on longtermism – the idea that positively influencing the long-term future is a key moral priority of our time.

- Research interests: existential risks, AI governance, high-level and theoretical aspects of technical AI alignment, macrostrategy, philosophical foundations of longtermism, ethics.- Co-authored an academic paper on risks of human extinction published in Global Policy.- Co-directed a summer programme for research visitors. Selected 11 people with diverse backgrounds out of >90 applications. Designed a mentoring scheme matching every intern with a mentor. Mentored 4 people. Participant outputs and outcomes include career plan changes and a paper draft that was featured on the economics blog Marginal Revolution.

- Responsible for strategy development, research coordination, hiring, and public representation. - Onboarded 4 staff members that also moved to the Institute. Supervised up to 9 staff members and evaluated 2 potential hires during trial periods.- Gave extensive feedback on all research output and hosted regular research seminars. Impact-adjusted output grew by 40% in 2017, including the Institute's first peer-reviewed publications.- Gave invited talks at advocacy-oriented conferences and other research institutions.- Presented an overview of the AI safety landscape at the Workshop on Reliable Artificial Intelligence at ETH Zurich. - Designed and executed 2 workshops on the risks and benefits of Artificial Intelligence aimed at talented university students.- Participated in a public one-on-one debate with Robin Hanson on risks and benefits of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Zurich.

- Responsible for international expansion and strategy.- Hired and supervised 6 new staff members and 3 interns, growing the team by 100%.- Gave talks at advocacy-oriented conferences in Luxembourg, at Oxford University, and in Berlin.- Initiated and advised spin-off process which resulted in the successful formation of 2 new nonprofits, Sentience Politics and the Sentience Institute.

International nonprofit run by its more than 1,000 volunteering members. Annual budget around 100,000 €. Based in Germany, structured around 18 local groups all over the country.Member of the Executive Board, responsible for overseeing the nonprofit's six education programs in crisis regions. Most resources go into granting scholarships to altruistically-minded university students who are starting and maintaining charitable projects, e.g. raising awareness for hygiene and sanitation in their local community.

Small-group teaching accompanying lectures ranging from Linear Algebra to Advanced Abstract Algebra. Grading homework and exams. Five half-year terms in total.
