• When I was 8 years old, I created a comic strip called “Super Banana” after learning about the benefits of the food pyramid in school. After a few years of developing the concept and having discussions with my father, we started a business to bring a positive and engaging narrative to children and young adults about making healthy, smart life choices. • Our business will publish digital and print versions of our comic strips, feature an education game/app, a website, and social media presence, and be sold directly to parents/children and to schools/educational concerns. Stories will promote the value of healthy choices about food, exercise, sleep, as well as encourage children to being inclusive supportive of people of all cognitive levels, races, creeds, sexual orientation, etc. • To date, we have begun our initial round of fundraising and were named a semi-finalist of the McCloskey Foundation scholarship at the University of Notre Dame.

• I started coaching Special Olympics at age twelve, and I had no idea how big of an impact being part of Special Olympics would have on my life. As I made deep, lasting connections with the athletes, it quickly became the best part of my week. Seeing my athletes build relationships with their teammates, learn the value of hard work, improve their skills and ultimately win a race warmed my heart more than I ever could have expected. • At weekly practices/competitions, I teach pivotal skills to improve performance in the sport, but also encourage the development of strong interpersonal communication between the athletes. I oversee and support more than 30 athletes on a weekly basis and give them 100% every time we are together.
