Aliso Viejo (Spanish for "Old Sycamore") is a city in the San Joaquin Hills of southern Orange County, California. It had a population of 52,176 as of the 2020 census, up from 47,823 as of the 2010 census. It became Orange County's 34th city on July 1, 2001, the only city in Orange County to be incorporated since 2000. It is bordered by the cities of Laguna Beach on the west and southwest, Laguna Hills on the east, Laguna Niguel on the southeast, and Laguna Woods on the north. It is similarly named to another nearby city, Mission Viejo.

Serving as a pre-sales architect, my role was to develop solutions for opportunities covering a wide array of technologies and services.Provide and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of our customer's business and their competitive landscape to assist in the selection of technologies to accelerate business growth. Other responsibilities include maintaining a working knowledge of best-of-breed technologies that provide IT solutions for the datacenter including leveraging cloud technologies. Assuritive was founded as a Disaster Recovery CSP providing advanced second site failover solutions for the midmarket enterprise, with the benefit of cloud economics. Founded and capitalized by the prior owners of Kaseya, my responsibilities included all aspects of technology operations, including development of a purpose built Disaster Recovery as a Service platform to service our customers. Recovery platform was architected and built upon VMware vCloud Director, Zerto, Veeam, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, Avamar, ZFS, EMC Unity, among many others. Developed a portal framework, integrating all technologies into a seamless recovery portal. Headed Assuritive’s Sales Engineering efforts including driving meetings, architecting solutions, and overseeing implementation to completion. Providing entire site failover is complex, with often protracted sales cycles. A typical deployment would encompass 100 instances (virtual and physical), many virtual network segments, and virtual security devices, and additional requirements for high workload applications. Under my leadership, Assuritive developed and delivered a high touch customer experience model, to a very sticky customer base. After a successful exit in December 2017, Assuritive was acquired by Green House Data. I continue to work with Green House at this time in a consultative capacity, working with the CIO to implement and drive customer success strategies.

Primary architect with direct responsibility of multiple highly available and strategically and internationally placed private-cloud datacenters. Leverage public-cloud deployments, deliver advanced network design, SQL and no-SQL Big Data architectures. Successfully implemented comprehensive 24x7 NOC services, customer server management offerings, and deep application monitoring. Implemented change management and deployment procedures dramatically improved system availability. Management of internal IT teams responsible for all in-house developed back-office services. Instrumental in moving Kaseya from multiple on-premises systems to cloud architectures and a zero IT infrastructure footprint. The result of these initiatives have dramatically reduced Kaseya’s IT spend, while enabling a workforce of 500 knowledge workers to leverage latest, best of breed technologies while successfully supporting BYOD. Designed and deployed global private-cloud connectivity to 30 domestic and international locations. Acting as Kaseya’s compliance officer, developed security response policy, Kaseya’s internal security practice, and deliver information security training to end users. Responsible for keeping documentation relevant and current. Monitor regularly scheduled ASV scans, and internal vulnerability assessments and provide remediation where needed.

Value was generated via a highly targeted, well trafficked, and unique closed advertising ecosystem.

Maintain a network operations center which monitors general systems performance metrics, application availability, service level compliance. Research new technologies and provide mentorship to a staff of six.Significant accomplishment: Architected and operated a large server farm capable of delivering over two million individually unique SMTP messages in one day. While a small number by today’s terms, this was a massive accomplishment for a company who pioneered email marketing. Named primary inventor on two email delivery patent applications which were relevant at the time.

Effectively managed all aspects of I.T. operations for a user base of 2600. Spearheaded a wholesale systems upgrade of 45 field offices from Banyan Vines, Lotus Notes, Novell, and legacy connectivity to Windows and Exchange, with over 150 data circuits deployed. Performed numerous systems integrations with acquired entities.
