As an Investigations Officer with the Enforcement Team for the Government of Jersey, my role involves investigating individuals suspected of benefit fraud. I am responsible for gathering evidence and preparing reports to substantiate or refute claims of fraudulent activity.My duties include communicating with claimants via email, conducting interviews either on government premises or at the claimants' residences, and collecting evidence necessary to build a case.

In this role, I was tasked with identifying and mitigating the spread of COVID-19 on the island of Jersey. My responsibilities included contacting individuals who had tested positive, identifying their close contacts, and taking measures to prevent further transmission of the virus. This required strong investigative skills to accurately trace and manage potential outbreaks.Additionally, I was responsible for accurately logging extensive information into a local government database, necessitating a high level of administrative competence. Given the nature of the work, exceptional interpersonal skills were essential. I interacted with hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals, each with different health conditions and reactions to the situation. Maintaining a professional demeanour while demonstrating empathy and care was crucial to effectively fulfilling my duties.
