About Max Errickson Simons

The first time I was introduced to the idea that all matter is atoms I proclaimed as loud as I could: "I can see the atoms." I did not expect that in my future I would pursue the structure of these atoms and the shapes they make as this magnificent blue ball rotates in space with us aboard. It has been my fortuitous circumstance to learn the function and structure of biological systems as I pursue a BA in Biochemistry, learning the techniques of crystallization, protein purification, and. other forms of structural identification for biological and organic systems. It was during my second year in Whittier College when I performed an experiment with my lab partner and had a revelation. The result of the experiment was perfect, the product exactly what we suspected it to be, and I turned to my lab partner and good friend and said, with the most excitement I have had since a little boy, "We're chemists!" So happy I was to have a successful result I realized the joy of discovery. The joy to perform a discovery that aided the world and expanded our accumulated knowledge of the natural chemical world could fill my heart for a lifetime. The time I set aside from this learning is meant for the expression of my hopes, dreams, and innermost doubts in my own personal storytelling. I have accumulated a small index of short stories and novella which I may one day put to paperback for a nickel and a penny.
