Part of the Metals Engineering Team that is responsible for developing aluminum, ductile iron and gray iron products as well as out-sourced components made from a variety of materials and coatings. Responsible for development of materials, processes, and engineering specifications, ensuring successful launch to production. Collaborate with ConMet plants, suppliers, QA and customers on new technology, products, processes that enhance product performance and value. This position provided exposure to multiple engineering disciplines - electrical, mechanical and chemical – and their use in industrial applications within the Facilities Process department of WaferTech. The Process team is responsible for Ultra Pure Water production and Waste Water Treatment at WaferTech. I was provided a mentor to guide activities including hands on system maintenance and system improvements. There was two main tasks assigned during this internship. The first was to design and fabricate an ergonomic lift assistance to be used during maintenance of large pumps. The second task was to assist with the commissioning and documentation of a new waste treatment system.
