13th December 2021 - 02nd September 2022 - Auxiliary Cooling, Shaft line and Ready Use Tools.03rd September 2022 - 29th November 2022 - Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) maintainer 4x LCVP and 2x Sea Boats 29th November 2022 - Current Landing Craft Utility (LCU) MK10 Marine Engineering Officer (MEO)Directly responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of a range of equipment including:- Diesel engines/generators.- Craft propulsion systems- Hydraulic systems- LP air ring main.- Pumps (Fuel/Fresh/Ballast/Fire)- HVAC.- Electrical systems ranging up to 440 volts AC. - Fresh water and salt water ring-mains.Responsibilities –• The safe operation of the mechanical / electrical systems from a control panel, with an asset value of £3M. • Fault finding and defect rectification, often operating independently. • Leading planned and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring the use of safe systems of work such as LOTO/Permit to work. • Providing advice on technical matters and limitations to the coxswain whilst operating at sea and in harbour. • Administration of technical registers & logs, ensuring these are up to date and kept in good order.• Working with other LCU MEO’s to ensure that the sections x4 LCU Mk10 Craft pass their annual assurance inspections including harbour and sea acceptance trials post refit periods. •Involvement in the set to work and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems after maintenance/support periods, liaising with contractors. • Liaising with shoreside services to ensure fleet time support period maintenance packages are carried out on up to four craft at a time, ensuring work is completed safely in a timely manner.• Conduct Material State Assessments of the craft before generating defect reports and raising work request forms from external services as required. • Control of fueling evolutions of landing crafts in a maritime environment. • Training of the crew in firefighting and machinery breakdowns

04th November 2018 - 20th January 2019 Royal Navy 10 Week Basic Training (Phase 1) At HMS RALEIGH 21st January 2019 - 09th July 2019 Royal Navy Fast Track PLET Career course (Phase 2) at HMS SULTAN 10th July 2019 - April ish 2020 (start of Covid - look up course date) Joined HMS ALBION for a compressed first Sea Draft to enhance my learning and marine engineering experience. Completed a comprehensive PLET Task book to show a body of evidence towards the training I had undertaken and the knowledge gained. Here I gained invaluable system knowledge and experience of a LPD, often spending considerable amounts of time tracing systems and locating valves to ensure i was competent with the operation of all systems allocated to the ME department. April ish 2020 - 13th May 2021 (look up course start date) Royal Navy Leading Engineering Technician Qualifying Course (LETQC) at HMS SULTAN completing the theory towards my level 3 Apprenticeship. On completion of course I held the full rate of Leading Hand.Responsibilities as a PLET On Board HMS ALBION• Assist with fault finding on mechanical and electrical systems.• Assist watch keeping of machinery, ensuring correct parameters are maintained.• Defect rectification of mechanical and electrical systems.• Reacting to breakdowns as necessary.• Working mainly on Wartsilla V16 and In-line 4 Diesel Engines but also other systems including HP/LP air, Sewage, Chilled Water, Hydraulic and Electrical systems onboard.• Strong Landing Platform Dock (LPD) system knowledge.• Assisting contractors with tasks during Fleet Time Maintenance Periods (FTSP’s)Working in a small team ensuring daily tasks/system running checks were carried out.

During the year and 9 months I worked as a self employed labourer contracting to my Fathers building company. I averaged 45 hour weeks often being responsible for staying late to clean up at the end of the day and close the site. The business I contracted to ran 3 major extensions during the 21 months with every aspect of the build carried out by us. This started with the ground works, bricklaying/timber framing, insulating, roofing, rendering, first fix electrics, plastering, decorating, second fix electrics and the fit and finish of the rooms. I still use the skill set I learnt in that time today as i have my own property i am developing from a run down, out of date flat to a modern, ready to rent flat. I also felt it taught me how to work hard and the satisfaction of earning the money i get paid. In between the 3 major jobs whilst my Father would take time off or catch up with smaller jobs for customers i would contract to a Landscaping business in my town to maintain a steady income and further my skill set with a company taking on large landscaping jobs. The choice to be self employed was due to being unsure how long the joining process for the military would be and although i never expected it to be 21 months i felt i matured and prepared a lot in this time to be the most ready to join
