Assists in the onboarding of newly hired Class A drivers and acclimating them to our business practices out in the field via in-person training involving how we deal with customers at their businesses/residences as well as how to properly fill out bills of lading for deliveries and outbound shipments to be returned to our terminal. Along with demonstrating professional driving abilities to navigate the various challenges we face on a daily basis.

Operating a tractor trailer combo to deliver, and pickup orders from customers in the greater Portland Metro area and beyond in industrial, suburban, rural and residential areas. Equipment ranges from Class B box trucks, to Class A 28ft-53ft trailers, sometimes multiple 28ft trailers connected together, with freight ranging from anything you can think of, including hazardous materials and bulk chemical containers.

In charge of routing approximately 55+ trucks for deliveries for business days at our Portland OR and Vancouver WA warehouses with an average of 650-800 accounts per day with the assistance of software suites provided by Omnitracs and Wise systems. Additional duties listed below:Identifying conflicts between between operations staff, sales staff and our customers in order to provide the best possible outcome for deliveries.Assigning work orders and organizing possible POS items to be sent out on routes.Pre-building orders for trucks to be picked loaded by warehouse crews via software provided by Vermont Information Processing.

Portland, Oregon Area

Operated a commercial vehicle to deliver bulk product to customers all over the Portland metro area in either a Class A Tractor/Trailer combo, or a Class B straight truck. Routes started between 2-7am. Most of my work was done in North Portland in a Class B straight truck delivering on average 100-130 stops a week. One day a week I would take a tractor trailer to St Helens to deliver bulk orders to grocery stores and convenience stores/gas stations.

Driver for the Portland metro area for about 7 years. Primary focus was to arrange pick up's and deliveries for all FedEx Office stores in the Portland and Vancouver metro areas based on store needs, as well as the needs of customers through centralized dispatch services based out of Dallas TX using a company provided smartphone. Under special circumstances, certain deliveries ranged from as far north as Longview, WA, to as far south as Corvallis, OR.Other duties included:Keeping van up to date on maintenance, commonly done every 5,000 miles of driving.Phoning customers or stores if there might be a potential due time issue, mainly from traffic or previous stop delays.When stopped at a store while on-call, providing assistance to stores with previous experience as a consultant. Created servers for the computer games Quake 3 Arena, Call of Duty, Call of Duty: United Offensive and Unreal Tournament 2004Administered servers and monitored them to make sure the attendees of PDXLAN played fairly and no person was cheating to gain an upper handCreated rule sets that were used to define what was legitimate and what was not in the tournamentsWorked with attendees to resolve issues with the tournament, in game and outside of the game. Issues included not being able to find their competitor, unfair play issues and general public relations.

House construction and deconstruction working with Habitat For Humanity and St. Rose De Lima church in Bay St. Louis, MS, and Cleveland Ohio. Duties included Roofing, framing, back filling, gutting houses (tearing down the walls infested with black mold) along with maintaining tool and part inventory counts in the warehouse in Ohio.Educational Tutor, Worked at a special needs school to help mentor and tutor youth struggling to meet the educational standards of the state of Virginia. Tasks included creating tests for teacher lesson plans, filing and sorting papers for each student’s educational portfolio, laminating items to be presented on an overhead and helping out each student who was struggling in their work.Assisted a food bank in Philadelphia Pennsylvania sorting food boxes for various delivery dates, stacking them in an organized manner on various wooden pallets, gather food items and sorting them into their appropriate placements, performed maintenance on warehouse lights, managing volunteers to efficiently organize food items into separate boxes for various delivery dates.Helped with the American Red Cross in New Orleans Louisiana providing food to families devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Every morning at our staff shelter at a gymnasium at Kenner Louisiana, our team and the other 100 Red Cross volunteers would separate into 30 groups of 5 and head out all over New Orleans and the outlying parishes in converted ambulances called ERV's "Emergency response vehicles" and serve 500-800 meals each day per ERV to families in need.
