About Maximilian Griffin
I am a 4th year Master of Accounting/Undergraduate student at Tulane University in its 4+1 Master of Accounting Program. I will graduate in 2026 with a BSM and MACCT. I tutor students in the classes Intro to Business Analytics, Financial Accounting, Calculus I, and a variety of other business school classes. My goal is to work as a sell side equity analyst and I am currently seeking internship opportunities for the 2025 summer. I am currently interning at Cartesian Capital Group. I work 20-30 hours per week, and my role has a wide range of responsibilities. I conduct in depth research and present findings to leadership to inform investment decisions; I assist with the preparation and formatting of documents and powerpoint slides; and I perform due diligence by using Pitchbook, Eikon, Bloomberg, and other research platforms. This challenging role has strengthened my attention to detail, Microsoft office suite skills, writing ability, and researching skills. I also tutor many business school classes. I was hired by Tulane’s Academic Center for Student Athletes, but now I tutor privately. Tutoring has honed my teaching, communication, and leadership abilities. During the first semester of my 3rd year at Tulane University, I was selected to participate in the nationally recognized Burkenroads Reports class. For this class I worked as a sell side equity analyst to cover Havertys furniture. My team and I built a DCF model, performed comps analysis, interviewed all upper management, and published a comprehensive analyst report. During the 2024 summer I was the finance intern at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. For this role I used excel to organize donor information for the Executive Director to use in fundraising projects; and automated tracking of patients per therapist, increasing operational efficiency and optimizing therapist caseload. This experience increased my excel skills, knowledge of fundraising, and understanding of managerial accounting. During the 2023 summer I interned at BBDO New York, as a finance intern. For this role I tracked billable vs. non billable expenses and presented my findings to the CFO; and ensured all timesheets were submitted. This resulted in increased revenue because BBDO makes all of its revenue from billing clients for hours. Outside of work I love to do calisthenics, run, and listen to music. Please feel free to reach out to me here or through my email!
