I am currently a student at Appalachian State University in the Masters Engineering Physics program. Our program specializes in embedded systems, with a focus on both software and hardware. Our coursework consists primarily of hands-on learning with industry standard equipment, including FPGAs, microcontrollers and Allen-Bradley PLCs. We spend 400+ hours in the lab. I will be graduating in May 2022.During my undergraduate years, I gained experience doing scientific research, including astronomical spectroscopy and photometry. Outside of my academic studies, I did a summer internship at the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute, where I digitized astronomical spectra recorded on photographic plates. Some of these spectra dated back to the 1800s. I am also familiar with several programming languages (Python, C, Java) and have extensive software experience. My specialty is troubleshooting and problem solving, including mechanical and auto systems, electronics, software and coding.
