Staff Officer Class 2 - Sme Army Reserve
CurrentAs the Subject Matter Expert on all matters relating to the Army Reserve, (previously Territorial Army) at a Military Headquarters overseeing a mixture of regular and reserve soldiers totalling up to 6,100. Role was to advise on Terms and Conditions of Service, the preparation for mobilisation of reserve personnel for military operations around the world. A broad responsibility to advice Army Senior Officers on all matters affecting Reserve Forces from recruitment, training, retention, funding, medical issues etc. Often due to ambiguity having to make decisions that later became pan Army Reserve Policy. Often presenting to very senior Army Officers.When the Bde were supporting other government departments - especially during the pandemic crisis -worked on the use of the Army Reserve to support, testing, vaccinations, ambulance operations, planning staff and general duties personnel across the UK.Due to staff gaps regularly collecting other tasks, project management and delivery of ammunition containers in support of Ukraine Forces, the planning of the mounting of UK forces for scale exercises in Western Europe and the Brigade Driver Training School.Other duties included - Brigade Media Representative, HQ Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Brigade Adventure Training Officer.
