Max Malmud is a graduate of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a B.Ed. in Secondary Education, and a current graduate student in pursuit of his M.Ed. in Global Education and International Curriculum Studies. He has years of experience focused on the development, management, study, and education of diverse and inclusive learning communities, curriculums, and programs. As a queer, hapa-identifying individual, Max also has a diverse lived experience that allows him to connect deeply with cross-cultural and underrepresented groups, fueling his passion to act as an advocate for these groups while impacting progress toward restorative justice. Max's credentials include...- teaching inclusive classrooms of various grades, subjects, sizes, and needs,- coordinating cross-cultural itineraries, overseeing housing, and managing relations of various international higher education student groups,- serving as a presenter and panelist at various inclusion, LGBTQIA+, and AAPI identity-focused events, conferences, and symposiums,- developing, implementing, and budgeting educational, cultural, inclusive, and identity-based programming and curriculum for various educational groups and institutions,- managing housing, operations, staff, administration, conduct, case files, engagement, security, emergency response, and all needs of various student communities from 10-400 in size,- teaching, training, counseling, and developing curriculum catered to neurodivergent, special needs, and/or students with disabilities and/or mental health concerns,- and hiring, training, and managing teams of various sizes for small-to-large scale event programming, community management/engagement, and diversity/inclusion initiativesMax currently works as lead coordinator for the annual Pacific Rim Conference on Disability and Diversity, responsible for all logistics of planning, promoting, and implementation, and is also the first Regional Representative for the Hawaiʻi region under the TOMODACHI Alumni Program.Max attributes his successes to his skills in education, leadership, management, communication, collaboration, adaptability, and networking, as well as a drive to serve the greater good in the most effective, positive, and efficient way possible.
