I taught journalists and journalism students across Canada to use advanced search techniques, social media monitoring, geolocation and open-source research tools to identify dis/misinformation and improve their reporting.

I was one of two people in charge of the Law Van project, a mobile legal help clinic that operated in 11 communities throughout Wellington County. We gave free, plain-language legal information to low-income people and connected them with lawyers and caseworkers from the van. I was also in charge of producing digital and social media content daily.

Content Producer (Whitehorse) - I was the lead producer on three daily radio programs. I planned the line-ups for the morning show. I lead a daily content meeting, taking story pitches from hosts, APs and other producers. I assigned the day’s radio interviews and segments and vetted completed scripts for air. I also reported, mixed, and edited radio.

I produced a scrolling ticker, weather and traffic graphics on a live morning show. I also produced a morning newscast and wrote police and fire stories for the CTV Winnipeg web page.

Whitehorse, Yukon And Iqaluit, Nunavut

I reported daily news for radio, TV and web, covering breaking news, daily assignments, as well as features in all three mediums. My local reporting appeared on national radio via World Report and the national hourly news. I produced several radio documentaries, which aired locally and nationally.

I was a general assignment news reporter, writing news and features for the territory’s capital city daily and often shooting accompanying photos.
