I work as a data analyst and research fellow as a part of the post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. My role entails interacting with epileptic patients with intracranially implanted EEG electrodes to obtain behavioral and neurological data. I then analyze this data using MATLAB and Python coding programs to produce novel discoveries on cognition and information processing in the brain. My work serves to produce information for the betterment of neurological disorder outcomes and to help the individual patients we serve.

I was a founding member of our lab focused on uncovering the mechanism of cognition in the brain. We collect electrophysical data from the macaque cortex and identify patterns of activity indicative of a canonical microcircuit of cognition. I have been involved primate behavioral trainings for two macaques, and I have performed multiple immunohistological staining processes to visualize in anatomical samples. I use various technical methods of data collection and analysis, including MATLAB and Java coding as well as microscopy, 3D modeling, and statistical analyses. For my work, I received the Littlejohn Undergraduate Research Program Fellowship given to two students yearly.

I work as a research assistant in our lab focused on investigating trends in public health, fundamental causes of health inequality, and the personal and financial impacts of certain interventions. I have worked with cohort groups of cancer patients undergoing new treatments at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and in doing so I have collected data from dozens of samples. In doing so, I gained important interpersonal skills as well as practice speaking in front of a group of people. I have used various technical skills including Microsoft Excel, MATLAB Coding, and statistics softwares to obtain significant information from the data.

I worked as a teacher's assistant in a statistical analysis class containing 33 students of all ages. I helped to teach both descriptive and inferential statistics with difficulty ranging from the most basic level up to complex methods of statistical analysis. We covered a variety of topics that include regression, binomial distributions, ANOVA, etc. I held biweekly office hour sessions to provide individualized instruction to students who would like additional help. Engaging as an instructor with the material has allowed me to develop a greater appreciation for how concepts are built from each other and how statistics seeks to describe the world around us.

I worked as a research assistant at the Gonda Multidisciplinary Brain Research Center in Ramat Gan, Israel. I led a team studying the neurological impacts of Broca's Aphasia. We analyzed grammatical components of patients' narratives in combination with EEG and MRI data. I enhanced the data collection and analysis system of the research center by incorporating a novel MATLAB organization and processing system. I additionally worked on a team studying bilingualism in over 200 Israeli children through daily speech therapy sessions. This provided an enriching opportunity to work with researchers of multiple nationalities in a university system different from that of the U.S.
