Backend Engineer for Google Nest• As Tech Lead for Emergency Calling in Nest Aware, designed and implemented multiple core features (address registration/verification, on-device callback via proxy phone number, household notification, abuse prevention), and supported the launch by coordinating cross-functional planning meetings with Product and QA teams.• Implemented system that extends Google’s internal email-marketing tool to support multiple surfaces within the Google Home App, allowing marketers to target in-app surfaces without engineering lift.• Designed and implemented real-time serving path of user marketing data generated by offline pipelines, effectively bridging offline data pipelines and real-time targeting rule evaluation for automated marketing campaigns.

Backend Engineer for Google Home• Implemented major components of Multi-Manager/Structure support in the Google Home App backend, including the manager invitation flows, user-device link reconciliation, and migration from legacy device linking mechanisms.• Implemented a server-side device polling loop that checks for completed firmware updates during the Google Home setup process, reducing time spent on the Update screen from 120s to 85s, and dropping manual user intervention rates from 75% to 8%.• Independently led an initiative to design and implement an extensible testing framework that reduces boilerplate by converting a common device model into mocked responses for numerous backend services.

Continued to develop driver-level software for NI PXI, a PCI-based platform for automated test, measurement, and control.• Acting as a technical lead for the software support of NI's latest line of PXI chassis. Features include chassis identification, monitoring, and control.
