I am the designer and developer of Monti, a virtual classroom app that was the recipient of the 2017-2019 Dutch Education Award's Audience Award. The award was presented by Henri Swinkels, deputy of Livability and Culture.I am deeply passionate about virtual worlds and how they can be applied in education and training, believing them to hold vast potential in enhancing the experience and information retention of learners. My projects in university and professional settings have focused on optimising user interaction and experience (UI/UX) in virtual worlds on desktop/mobile screens as well as in virtual reality, and how different elements within them can affect the user's emotional state and in turn their ability to focus and retain information. My passion for innovation fuels my approach to product design and development, from ideation to execution, consistently aiming to exceed user expectations.Additionally, I have a deep passion for delivering presentations and engaging audiences on topics that may be new or complex to them. My aim is to bridge the gap between experts and laypeople, making challenging subjects like virtual reality research and game development accessible and understandable to all through effective teaching methods. My professional endeavours are helped along by a creative edge, honed from pixel/3D art, music composition/arrangement, game design, and full-on game development projects I enjoy pursuing in my free time.Across my university degrees I followed data science and game & media technology curricula, which laid the foundational knowledge necessary for my career. I was particularly interested in human-computer interaction and VR, leading me to pursue additional research projects and my master thesis in these subjects to further deepen my understanding of and skills in these fields.Professionally, I've had the opportunity to work on mobile apps and a virtual classroom app, where I applied my skills in virtual world development and UX design to create an award-winning end product that raised elementary school education efficiency and efficacy to new heights. Each project served as a stepping stone, allowing me to expand my expertise and contribute significantly to my team and company goals.
