    The National Butterfly Center is dedicated to the education, conservation and the scientific research on butterflies. We are composed of 100 acres of native habitat. Our nursery consists of native plants that are for sale for this particular region. Our goal is to reach the youth on environmental conservation. We have approached this by creating a program that not only explains but is also interactive called WINGED WONDERS. Our visitors consist of winter texans and local "butterfliers and birders". The park is very unique in that we are the only park in the USA that dedicates its time to butterflies without enclosures, all in their natural habitat. That is not all we see though, you can encounter Bobcats, Javalina, Racoons, Fox Tail Squirrels, Indigo Snakes and a whole lot more. Come visit with us and notice the true colors of our natural world!
