The SCPD Provides law enforcement and policing services for a population of 127,721 within the City of Santa Clara.I am accountable for enforcing Federal, State and Municipal laws and ordinances; investigating crimes and incidents and preparing detailed reports; carrying out crime prevention duties and community relations activities; documenting, processing and presenting evidence; and providing legal testimony.As Patrol Officer, I maintained order, protected life and property, and enforced laws and ordinances within the City by performing a combination of duties, including: suppressant crime patrol, directing traffic, issuing citations, investigating traffic accidents, and apprehending and arresting suspects.As Field Training Officer, I performed the following tasks:➥ Trained junior Police Officers; developing competent, skilled, and dedicated officers capable of advancing the Department’s mission and representing its core values.➥ Provided on-the-job instruction to recruit officers in the field.➥ Served as role model, demonstrating the professional standards of law enforcement and providing an example.➥ Trained and coached a variety of police staff, including: new officers, patrol teams, detectives, and swat teams. As Investigator, I performed the following tasks:➥ Conducted investigations to prevent crimes and solve criminal cases by analyzing data, controlling evidence, preparing documentation, making key recommendations. ➥ Led sexual assault investigations; playing a supportive role for victims of sexual assault.➥ Leveraged digital technologies to facilitate investigations, streamline evidence gathering/assessment, and facilitate positive outcomes.➥ Conducted fraud investigations; employing key tactics to trace and locate stolen monies, identify and arrest perpetrators, and return stolen assets to their owner.➥ Produced investigative reports and threat assessments.➥ Achieved 90%+ rate of charges filed upon requesting prosecution.
