Leading habitat restoration work in the greater Portland, OR area. Working for a diverse set of clients including North Clackamas Watershed Council, City of Lake Oswego, Clean Water Services, Port of Portland, Metro, WA State Parks, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and more. Tasks include invasive species removal using chainsaw, brushcutter, and herbicide application. Additional tasks include planting, mulching, and surveying vegetation. Planting containerized, ball and burlap, and bare root native species. Trained incoming staff on native and non-native plant species. Utilized Field Maps and Avenza to track work and effectively plan future treatments. Working to rewild the urban fringe that is heavily degraded in this region due to heavy human land use and disturbance.

Leading habitat restoration field crews and getting them started each work day in the field with a site discussion, treatment discussion, and safety discussion. In this role I have assistant project management duties including writing project specific treatment plans for each entry. Ensuring safety of sites by determining access points and weather constraints associated with site or treatment hazards (ex. cottonwood canopy lowering our wind speed threshold; tides affecting ease of access/ safety sites; if we should use a billygoat mower or brushcutters; etc.). Post and pre treatment site visits to asses site conditions or to monitor project success or failure. Learning every day to help bridge the gap between Project Managers securing projects and Field Teams having the details available to effectively deliver on the client's vision. This role is a hybrid of fieldwork (75%) and office work (25%).

Botany-focused ecological restoration field work. Planting native trees, shrubs, forbs, grasses, rushes, and sedges. Safely operating cutting tools to remove invasive plant species. Certified herbicide applicator in forestry and aquatic environments for invasive noxious plants. Building experience in the forest management and conservation field with a diverse array of clients, property owners, and stakeholders. Working to restore native habitat for pollinators, birds, beaver, and other animal species of ecological significance. Botanical assistant internal certification. Mastery of local native and invasive plant species; including but not limited to scientific names, hydrology, shade tolerance and identifying characteristics. Equipment operator internal certification; Skilled use of ATV, UTV, Boom Spray setups, and Hydroseeder in addition to monthly maintenance and troubleshooting of chainsaws, brushcutters, hedgetrimmers, and augers.

Heating Oil Tank locating, decommissioning, and backfilling. Soil, ground water, and soil-gas sampling for risk-based studies to identify and track plumes from leaking tanks. Use of power tools and equipment including but not limited to: auger, geoprobe, metal detector, LEL gas detector, angle grinder, sawzall, cement saw, generator, rotohammer and jackhammer. Use of scientific sampling techniques and preparing samples for lab analysis to be reported to the DEQ if indicative of contamination.

Managed all sales accounts statewide for the craft hydrocarbon extract company. Helped in all aspects of the business in a true start-up atmosphere. Added 29 new retail accounts and revived slowing sales. Connected a new farm partner, High Noon Cultivation. Transported, packaged, and did all technical Metrc work and audits. Linked company to The Dub Wholesale transfer service to ensure proper cold-stored transportation of product. Opened more doors that will lead to future sales if pursued. Ability to help bring the company forward, but not yet out of the start-up phase.

Coordinated with other canvassing groups in the Portland area to encourage a culture of supporting door-to-door activism.Citizen Outreach Field Manager:October 2014 - November 2015Canvassed to protect and restore the water quality of the Columbia River and all life that is connected to it. Worked to prevent coal exports from making their way down the Columbia River Gorge. Worked to build community involvement in Vancouver, WA to stop the massive oil-by-rail project proposal from threatening the river and local communities. Organized citizens of Astoria, OR against LNG export plans. Organized citizens of Kalama, WA against a methanol refinery proposal that would put air quality, water quality and community safety at risk.

Worked as lead cashier and face of the 501c3 non-profit organization. Worked the sales floor and assisted customers with various needs. Valued and priced goods including furniture, luggage, antiques, kitchen items, clothes, and accessories. Accepted donations; assessing acceptable items, rejecting items, and sorting suitable items.

Full time canvassing leadership position. Managed and trained staff daily. Engaged the public in state-wide environmental issues. Exceeded fundraising quotas for the 501c4 non-profit (political/non tax deductible). Raised over $30,000 for the organization. Worked on campaigns for Environment Oregon and Environment Washington.

Completed a summary report for Humboldt County's Board of Supervisors of an ad-hoc committee that was tasked with evaluating the pros and cons of the County's voluntary participation in the Williamson Act after state subvention funding was taken away. Subsequently completed database updates for Humboldt County's listed Williamson Act parcels. Utilized the County Recorder's office to find missing data and parcel history information.
