Hidden Driver Initiative- Built a text matching process to match GEICO data to external data and ensure hidden drivers are being referred. This process was built to match addresses of policyholders- This initiative earned approximately $38 million in July of 2015 and after these adjustments (and adding New York), it now earns $45 million annually in additional earned premiumConstruction of a new hidden driver initiative- New initiative specifically for finding policies with hidden drivers in California- Clustering used to group similar policies with known hidden drivers- Decision Trees and Random Forests used to construct profiles of policies most likely to house a hidden driver- Pilot implementation had an approximate success rate of ~75%Information Verification- Weight changes frequently made to a model running at the end of the insurance quoting process- Model changes are always simulated to predict what the results would indicate if the changes were implemented- Use lasso regression to identify which variables needed a weight change for a particular subset of fraudulent customers (without affecting others)Database construction- Database built to house internal and external data- Constructed for collaboration purposes between departments- Database contained information from an external vendor and the interactions it had with GEICO internal data for quick and easy accessVehicle History Project- Major project caused by a large influx of new external data available to GEICO- Work with many teams in the underwriting department as well as the actuarial department to make multiple model adjustments and rate changes- Lead analyst on the model adjustment portion of the project (as well as SME on model information)- Team won associates of the month award for successful project implementationMiscellaneous- Use of Agile project framework- Trained and mentored new analysts on the fraud team and all new analysts underwent basic SAS training
