As an Infrastructure Services Engineer at Nextworld I am primarily working on automating and improving the patch and release upgrade process for both our Development and Production environments. This project utilizes Jenkins Pipelines to manage the different automation steps, Python for logic and the majority of the scripting, and Groovy as the foundation for the Jenkins jobs. We are also utilizing AWS SSM parameter store to make the automations release agnostic as well as easily scalable. Additional responsibilities for working on the team include deploying hot patches, data transforms, and access management utilizing the Nextworld platform.

As a Campus Tour Guide, it is my job to share with groups of up to 50 students and parents the unique history and strengths of the University of Denver. I also support families in their college decision-making process, by speaking on panels for prospective students. On top of that, as part of the overnight stay program, which provides the unique opportunity of spending one night in the dorms to get a authentic experience of campus life, I host students visiting campus.

As an instructor for iDtech camps I taught three separate classes: Roblox Entrepreneur: Lua Coding and Game Scripts; Coding and Engineering 101; Intro to Python Coding for Machine Learning. Through these classes I learned to teach and motivate students with varying skill levels and ages to complete programming projects. I used Micro Bits and Pytops to teach hardware basics in two of my classes, and taught three different programming languages, Python, Lua, and Javascript. I was responsible for keeping students on track, and building a productive and creative environment. Some of my favorite projects from the camp were a fully functioning player vs player fighting game built in Roblox, and a space invaders type game built using microbits.

As an Intern at Yogi I worked on many different projects. Most notably I trained an AI chatbot using Natural Language Processing. This project involved producing the data to train the AI as well as interacting with live user input to see what areas needed further training. I also worked on the web application design and implementation, as the AI was based off of Flow XO and hosted online. I sat in on weekly board meetings planning out goals for the next week, and providing a fresh perspective for new features of the application. On top of this I ran a social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram with a 20% increase of the user base.

At Albemarle County Public Schools, I worked as an IT summer intern. As a team, we were responsible for preparing over 10,000 laptops that are used by the students in the Albemarle county. To prepare the laptops we had to image every laptop and verify the software license. In addition, we performed hardware repairs necessary to keep the laptops working. These included bottom case, motherboard, LCD, hard drive, and keyboard replacements.
