A graduate scheme involving four secondments at companies in the food and fresh produce sector whilst completing a Level 5 qualification in Operations/Department Management.Secondment 1: Operational Excellence Support, Johnstone's Food Services, Finsbury Food Group(Oct 2020 - April 2021)- My role involved carrying out regular data collection and analysis to aid the progress of Continuous Improvement projects. - Worked to reduce changeover times on one of the production lines using SMED principles.- Planned and initiated a 6S project within the factory- Carried out several data-collection exercises to analyse and act on KPIs such as rejections, waste and ingredient usageSecondment 2: Junior Technologist, Greenyard Fresh UK(April 2021 - October 2021)- Completing, maintaining and improving Quality Improvement Plans for several major retailers- Acting as a stakeholder in the processing sector of the business, providing a technical insight- Communicating with external suppliers to understand their needs and act on issues such as customer complaints- Customer benchmarking for several linesSecondment 3: Buying Assistant, Aldi UK(October 2021- April 2022)- Buying assistant on the berries category- Taking an in depth focus on the technical/quality aspects of the category carrying out varietal and sampling work- Managing suppliers from a technical/quality perspective- Assisting with the day to day management of the categorySecondment 4: Product Manager, Agrovision(April 2022 - April 2023)- Product Manager role providing on the ground eyes and voice for the commercial team both in Peru and in the sales territories with the objective to improve product allocation and aligning production and quality with needs of the customers- Based on the 2500ha blueberry farm in Peru as well as periods in the Netherlands, Morocco and Mexico- Worked cross functionally with operations, quality and commercial team members to optimise product allocation
