As the principle engineer for DC Pro Engineering Australia, my responsibility is to integrate the work of Direct Energy Australia with the advanced district energy, electrical & HVAC engineering skills of DC Pro Engineering (UAE).A focus on engineering coordination for integrated energy systems design and modelling is at the forefront of my role. Creating New Standards for Australian major projects and developing district energy systems for precincts and cities is our mandate. The optimal mix of renewable/conventional energy inputs and energy efficiency measures underpins our recommendations and designs.

Have designed and implemented the overall controls of several commercial and domestic hybrid heating and cooling systems. Managed several commercial and residential projects located in Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Commissioned and troubleshot several hybrid heating and cooling systems.

Duties - Develop an energy modelling software taking into consideration thermal and electrical energy as well as water treatment systemsAchievements - Have developed a BETA version of the software. Wrote a paper reviewing a wide range of energy modelling software currently available in the industry.

Duties - Geothermal and hybrid cooling and heating systems feasibility assessment and design, photovoltaic power system sizing and feasibility assessment, assessment of potential energy efficiency and generation opportunities and load profile analysis, project overview and organisation, report writing, oral presentations at seminars, universities and group meeting and tender review, writing and submission.Achievements - Undertook many grid connected and stand-alone solar power system feasibility studies for mine sites, government bodies and private organisations ranging from 5 kW to 10 MW systems. Undertook the assessment of a 10 kW solar PV system in order to ensure the system complied with current Australian Standards. Developed a tool to assess the economic feasibility of a solar power system. Monitored the energy consumption of many buildings around Perth and provided recommendations in order to reduce energy consumption. Undertook the preliminary design and feasibility assessment of a geothermal heating and cooling district system. Wrote and reviewed the tender for the Geraldton Aquarena geothermal heating system. Provided expertise engineering assistance to the City of Greater Geraldton. Selected the most appropriate solar power system size and provided energy efficiency solutions to the Department of Mines and Petroleum for two of their premises located in Perth.
