About Max Porter

I am a Partner at Johnston Houston with extensive experience in commercial Building Surveying. Having started with the company as a Graduate Surveyor in 2014 I progressed to a Senior Building Surveyor in 2016. In April 2019 on passing my Assessment of Professional Competence and becoming a MRICS I was appointed to the position of Associate. In January 2022 I was promoted to Partner. I manage a project team of eight surveyors working closely with the managing partner. The team deals with all aspects of commercial Building Surveying including measured surveys, dilapidations, condition reports, technical due diligence, acquisition reports, planned preventative maintenance, defects diagnosis, project management, contract administration, lifecycle modelling and the like. As team leader I am responsible for managing individual works loads, delegation of work and ensuring the delivery of projects and reports on time. I regularly engage with clients providing sound commercial advice building strong working relationships. I have an active role in Business Development and am always looking for new ways to add value to the Business.
