Second year graduate assistant in the Tennessee Athletics Media Relations office working with three top-20 teams nationally in football, baseball and women’s tennis. The baseball season comes with a heavy emphasis on social media strategy and planning as the primary role is to manage the team’s three main social media channels, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Since assuming the duty of social media manager in April 2022, the team has been ranked top-3 nationally in combined engagement each month and has been the top-engaged college baseball account five times in that span, according to SkullSparks. Other roles with baseball include handling player interview requests, game notes creation, assisting in ESPN/SEC Network needs and authoring feature stories on current and professional Vols. For football, the primary role is facilitating player interview requests and a large part of this required relationship-building with student-athletes. Among the many players promoted, one of the specific players which were assigned was 2022 Biletnikoff Award winner Jalin Hyatt. This role also included relationship-building with local and national media, pitching story ideas and helping to facilitate coverage of the program’s resurgence into the national stage, including the No. 1 ranking in the CFP rankings and an Orange Bowl victory.For tennis, there was a bit of both. Responsibilities included managing social but also serving as an asset to the coaching staff in whatever they needed done. This included feature stories, promotional materials for development to fundraise with, and creating awareness of the team through radio interviews, video pieces and releases.
