I am part of a mentoring scheme that PwC offer to my university. I have 1-to-1 sessions with my mentor once per fortnight and I take the opportunity to increase my network and understanding of the sector.

- Creating an accurate and legible record of lectures for deaf students studying towards their degree.- Collaborating with the client to implement effective techniques and methods to ensure they are satisfied with the service provided.- Directly accountable for the learning of the client and their university experience.- Producing high-quality written communication with a 24-hour turnaround time for notes to be submitted to the client.- Able to quickly become familiar with unfamiliar topics to produce notes in the agreed format and content style tailored to the student.- Using Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications to complete tasks efficiently.- Typing 120 words per minute and have developed the ability to touch type.

- Meeting students with a wide range of problems and relaying issues to representative boards.- Networking with my peers to create a strong response group, build trust, and direct students to appropriate support for quick resolution.- Accountable for the university experience of over 200 students.- Organising and hosting meetings with small groups of students to gather feedback.- Attending forums held twice per semester to act as a spokesperson to communicate student troubles to the Student Union.- Devising solutions to common student problems, for example, I liaised with the university’s career service, and they agreed to run a training session on CVs in response to many students saying they lacked employability skills.- This role has developed my ability to listen, summarise complex information and has improved my negotiation and public speaking skills.
