Train in rescue and perform site audits for construction projects on telecom sites.

I worked for 3 of the units in Dining Services, rotating with the academic calendar, serving as a supervisor in all three. I was a night supervisor at 2 of the units, where I would manage multicultural teams of 5-30, and in the summer I handled Garde Manger for the Catering department. At times there would be 5 different languages spoken on a team, and we would consistently feed thousands a day, both buffet style as well as plated meals. Although I did plenty of hands on cooking, the skill set that was most important was my ability to unify a variety of diverse employees for the purpose of an arduous goal.

For the Physics Department of the University of Colorado I worked with almost every person in the department, providing a conduit of information between contractors, building management, as well as the faculty and staff. When possible I would personally handle maintenance requests, in some of the most sophisticated laboratories in the world, but it was also very important for me to be able to access my own limitations, and send for an outside service request when necessary.

At Mami's I spent about 3 months as a delivery driver, then switched to cooking which aligned better with my interests. Within a few months I was a lead cook, and the General Manager the last year of my employment there. I learned an immense amount about authentic Mexican Cuisine, as well as developing a respect for fresh ingredients, everything was made from scratch with pride. The most difficult challenges that I overcame was the management of a team. Balancing a schedule, interviews, hiring, and doing everything within my power to bring out the best in an individual so that lay offs were minimal, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was one of development.
