He is involved in both tenant and landlord representation and is well-versed in both the sale and leasing of commercial properties in the Bay Area, primarily retail transactions. He continues to advise landlords and tenants in retail leasing, as well as developers and investors in the acquisition and disposition of retail and mixed-use projects. Max’s expertise is advising retail and commercial landlords and developers in the acquisition, redevelopment and leasing of core urban assets by attracting a wide variety of local and national tenants. Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Max had a successful and extensive career in the San Francisco restaurant and food industry as an executive in the operations of his family’s restaurants, including the historic Hayes Street Grill, Hog Island Oyster Co. and Vicolo Pizza. His unique background, along with his extensive experience as an operator and business owner, allows him to offer a range of retail services to local, national and global clients. He runs one of the elite retail (restaurant-focused) real estate platforms in the Bay Area bringing a wealth of experience in guiding retailers and landlords on the lease, purchase and investment of retail properties. As the head of our Bay Area Retail team, Max focuses on representing a broad spectrum of clients from retail developers and investors to national, regional and local retailers. He has extensive leasing experience in representing both tenants and landlords in San Francisco and is also well-versed in sales and investments within the Bay Area.
