During the vacation work at MIM, I was based in the Planning Department at MICO where I worked closely with Planners, Geotechnical engineers and Geologists. The position involved:• Fully Trained on Minesight.• Design and produce Preliminary Development designs and Final Designs.• Design and produce vertical opening and development designs.• Redesigned a problematic water reticulation project from which I saved the company $1.2M.• Creating final stope shapes from planned shape and Optec results.• Bi weekly examinations of designed development headings and stopes.• Constant enforcement and improvement of Health and Safety.• Carrying out High Hazard Activity Assessments on workers.• Designing the blast timing sequence for stopes using electronic detonators.• In-depth budgeting and optimisation of designs.
