I began my college career knowing I wanted to be a computer engineer. My father, who was a computer engineer himself, instilled in me a sense of curiosity and a love of tinkering at an early age. During my time at Portland State University, I was accepted into the MECOP (Multiple Engineering Cooperative Opportunities Program). My first internship through the program was with Cognex, a machine vision company working in industrial automation. During my time at Cognex, hardware viability testing I performed influenced a company decision on a major project. I still have one more internship occurring Summer to Fall 2018, with an as yet undetermined company.My interests include robotics, machine vision, AI, automation applications, and medical applications. I primarily am working towards my interest in embedded systems, and chose computer engineering as it allowed me to work closely with the hardware while being able to continue with software development.
