As an electrical engineer with 15 years of experience in embedded software, I’ve ushered many products into the marketplace. I’ve seen companies make it big and I’ve seen companies fizzle. I’m not afraid of taking big risks, but I approach them cautiously.Although my passion lies with coding, my background includes a stint as a manager, which I believe complements my skills as a developer. I’ve mentored fledgling Scrum teams and introduced Agile’s iterative approach to software development. Although I appreciate the strengths of these philosophies, I also understand where they fall short. At the end of the day I believe in people and communication, not methodologies.On a personal note, I am both a nerdy engineer and an outdoor enthusiast. I am equally comfortable chatting about mechanical keyboards as I am about big wall rock climbs in Yosemite Valley or kiteboarding beaches of the west coast. I designed and built an adventure vehicle out of a Sprinter van and spent a year (Aug 2016 - Aug 2017) traveling around the country, kiting and climbing.
