As R/Allocations and Records Management in the Strategy and Coordination Directorate one of my duties is registering and tracking Briefing Notes, DGL's, RML's and all Ministerial Correspondence between received to our department. The topic or nature of enquiry via these papers determines which directorate and area will provide a response, e.g. policy matters to our Policy area etc... usually these papers are timed restricted therefore tracking the progress of responses is essential to ensure they are provided to the Head of our department for approval and comment. Recently I joined the planning team to assist with organising a major conference for our department. The logistics required lots of detail and planning. The team consisted of two senior officer and myself and worked extremely well to ensure the conference was a success. The Office of Aboriginal Affairs sits in the cluster of the NSW Dept of Education. It is a small agency that has been recently described as a hard working agency that 'punches over their weight'. An interesting and exciting workplace filled with dynamic, highly skilled people who are producing exceptional work.
